sketches done at borders. one of these days they are going to kick me out. i hate drawing from photos or images on the computer. it sucks. drawing and painting from life is so much more interesting. so one told me recently that they believed that painting still lifes are more difficult than painting the figure. for me, i think that's bullshit. the figure can contain so many color, temperature and value changes that no sitting is ever the same. and the focus of your painting can only maintain the pose for so long. not that painting still lifes are easy. they have all the same problems as the figure, except that still lifes don't move. i'm not good at painting still life. i just prefer the challenge of getting figure down with paint or whatever.
